Just out of curiosity...

Postby mikey on Fri Jun 26, 2009 8:53 pm

Why is the car park at the top of Vulcan, opposit Bradlegh Rd bridge, always seem to be full during Weekdays. Wargrave school has it's own car park, as do the Angler's, fishing on the res.
With do industry in that area, where are these people, in all those cars going. ? Maybe there trying to find a save and legal place to park, out of the way of, "He on the moped" dishing out tickets, at 40 quid of your best English sterling. Nice work if you can get it...
Just wondering.

That's what I thought Dave, and fair play to them if it is. When I drove past on Monday afternoon it was
chocca, and although there was a bowls game on, I don't think many of them drove cars.
Just hope by highlighting this, I hope that the land owners, or god forbid, St Helens MBC, don't cotton on, and start painting double yellow lines there, as they seem to have gone over budget on our quota for yellow paint for this town.

From what I've read recently it's virtually impossible to park and shop in St Helens. It seems they have a Nazi style private enterprise firm generating as many parking tickets as possible so much so that many people have given up on shopping there and travel elsewhere. typical of the burghers of St Helens but they never were the sharpest knives in the drawer.

I nearly grabbed one of them the other day. He was giving someone a ticket with his moped parked across the pavement. If I had a camera at hand he would of been in the following weeks St Helens Star

I've seen 3 of these charlatans working the area at the same time recently. One on his moped, up and down High St, and the other two on foot in Earlestown. A long established business owner in town told me, one of their favourite spots is Haydock St, they wait at the back of the boys club, and then pounce on unwary motorists as the collect their parcles from the sorting office. 40 of your best English please...

Also if you think your safe on the supermarket car parks, BEWARE these are another money earner, and are regulary patroled, whilst Tesco give you 2 hours (free) parking, Netto only give you 1, and if you have the unfortunate ordeal of having to use the Post Office there, then there's a high possibility of over staying your welcome.

That Post Office is an absolute disgrace. I popped my head in there a couple of weeks ago and it was filthy and smelly. The floor looked as if it hadn't been swept for months. Who owns this dump and how do they get away with the state it's in ?

Royal Mail plan. Let it rot, take complaints, close it down. You go to St.Helens or Warrington for big post.

Spot on Rod, I've noticed that the postie's van dosen't come down our street very often anymore.
Seems they leave it to the regular morning guy, who sticks a card through the letterbox, "sorry you were out"
collect at the sorting office tomorrow, even when your in.

I think it blends in perfectly with all the road excavations that's going on..
And as for that section outside the Rams head, seems like it's been up for months, why can't they pressure test it, backfill, and move on. I see they've started to move up Market St now, pray to God they don't do a left
Down Haydock St, seen as it's no to long since it had a new road resurface, and a hefty lick of yellow paint just a couple of weeks ago. Can't wait to see the finished surface once there done !!!

There's a hole coming to a street near you soon...

Sent a letter to the Star see if it gets in next week.

As for Haydock street sorry to say just two weeks back I watch one bully boy book some 2ft tall old dear with a blue badge in her window and she parked miles away from any bother.
