Re: Just out of curiosity...

I think it blends in perfectly with all the road excavations that's going on.. And as for that section outside the Rams head, seems like it's been up for months, why can't they pressure test it, backfill, and move on. I see they've started to move up Market St now, pray to God they don't do a left D...

Re: Just out of curiosity...

Spot on Rod, I've noticed that the postie's van dosen't come down our street very often anymore.
Seems they leave it to the regular morning guy, who sticks a card through the letterbox, "sorry you were out"
collect at the sorting office tomorrow, even when your in.

Re: Just out of curiosity...

I've seen 3 of these charlatans working the area at the same time recently. One on his moped, up and down High St, and the other two on foot in Earlestown. A long established business owner in town told me, one of their favourite spots is Haydock St, they wait at the back of the boys club, and then ...

Re: Just out of curiosity...

That's what I thought Dave, and fair play to them if it is. When I drove past on Monday afternoon it was chocca, and although there was a bowls game on, I don't think many of them drove cars. Just hope by highlighting this, I hope that the land owners, or god forbid, St Helens MBC, don't cotton on, ...

Not sure if this can be added to the list but, what's happened to the Bulls Head on Southworth Road. I've past it on numerous occasions over the holiday period, and yet to see it open. Also, with all the news about Wollies closing, has anyone noticed that EPS (Earlestown plumbing supplies) on Wargra...

What will 2009 bring to N-le-W ?

More investment into the town from outside developers: Not if PAG have their way. The realisation that, those who govern us, and take the rewards, must wake up and re-invest into this town: Not as long as St Helens are are our masters. The understanding that, when questions/queries are asked from lo...

KFC !!! why not a Frankies and Bennys, Subway,or maybe even a Pizza hut, I'm sure there's a demand. I suggest the building should be leased out to a retailer with a bit of class, brashness, a bit daring... Something like an Ann Summers store.... In fact I think I'll e-mail Ann this minute. :-) I say...

As far as I'm aware the situation is as follows : The initial plan to build 600+ residential dwellings, recreation areas, new sports facilities etc, is still the intention of the project, however I understand that instead of doing it all in one foul swoop, the owners of the land are trying to sell o...

So Wigan council's development committee have announced that, Astral's rail freight scheme shouldn't be allowed!!! Firstly, what the hell has it got to do with them, the project lies outside their boundry. And their reasons; it has the potential to create congestion "mayhem" on the roads o...

There is a facebook group Rod called, "Do you think Newton-le-Willows and Earlestown should have it's own council". It also has a petition for N-le-w to have it's own parish. http://petitions.number10.gov.uk/NewtonParish. Oddly though, out of nearly 300 members, only 26 people have signed ...
